Have you ever thought what life will be if there were no social media handles?

There were no phones, laptops, computers, televisions or any digital device that would keep us engaged?

The world has undergone a paradigm shift in the way it operates. A new normal has taken reign. Things that seemed impossible before the COVID-19 Pandemic, have become great surviving tools. Life was then a balancing act with both online and offline engagements where people and businesses worked with a better duality.

This duality took a transformation and made us more dependent on the digital world. Lockdown across countries brought deep swathes of economic downturn and stalled the actual way of living. We became increasingly surrounded by the virtual reality and somewhere lost the real human to human connection.

You see, from morning till night, we are submerged in for a lot of reasons. It has become a necessary part of life. In a way, it is a lifesaver. Everything that worked in whether it was the economy, communications, information systems, collaboration between many people for knowledge, work, consultancy, health etc. have been a success because of the digital media. We wouldn’t have been able to carry the basic course of life.

But beyond this, do you think there exists a life?

Life where you and I can take volumes of air within, can walk in nature, connect with people and interact. A life without digital world.

The digital technology is made by humans. It is a part of the physical world. An illusion or a mirage that is dependent on the material world. You only connect with it when you have the required resources.

What if you don’t have the required resources?

You are simply away from a complete different world. What you have in front of you is you who is living life for what it is. Breathing, living and interacting. You and I are real. The digital world is just a medium, not the base of your life.

Your real connection with the world is when you are connecting with nature and grounding down to earth. It is necessary that we as humans establish a balance in our lives where the virtual and real physical world co-exist with each other. They complement each other and we ensure that our lives are not heavily dependent on either of them.

It will be a balance between the real and virtual world with a true human essence. A balance that is self-regulated.
